Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) - Center Based

Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices is seeking a Early Intervention (EI) Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) Provider certified for Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2) to teach at our center. Applicants must be ABA proficient.

Position starts in September for the 2020-2021 school year

Hours are: M-Th 9:30-3:00 pm, F 9:00-12:30 pm

DOE employees will NOT be considered

Responsibilities:

• Provide SEIT services to help a child with development disabilities achieve their next goal
• Implementation of the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Support teachers in the development of daily lesson plans
• Integrate IEP goals and services into daily learning and routines
• Implement, coordinate, and monitor child’s behavior management program
• Collaborate with preschool directors and teachers
• Coordinate child’s educational programs with teachers, therapists and parents
• Gather progress reports from related service providers
• Participate in multidisciplinary team communication and service plans.
• Ensure that services delivered appropriately address the goals as stated in the IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan).

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Special Education
• NYS certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2)
• Experience with NYC DOH SEIT Program; knowledge of early childhood intervention
• Must be ABA proficient
