Position Overview
Providence Medford Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for an outpatient orthopedic setting. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and overall function.
This role primarily treats adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with orthopedic conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities (e.g., ultrasound, E-stim, TENS, heat/cold therapy)
- Perform gait training, mobility exercises, and patient transfers
- Educate patients on home exercise programs
- Monitor patient progress and document outcomes accurately (Epic preferred)
- Maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment
- Minimum 1 year of PTA experience
- Oregon PTA License (can be pending at time of submission)
- BLS Certification
- Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings
- Experience treating:
- Low back pain, sciatica, and spinal conditions
- Joint replacements (hip/knee)
- Post-operative orthopedic cases
- Arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders
- Familiarity with:
- Manual therapy and mobilization techniques
- Modalities (TENS, ultrasound, traction)
- Epic EMR system
