Job Details- Location: Houston, TX 77054 (Texas Medical Center area)
- Position: Travel Speech-Language Pathologist / Hospital SLP
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Employment Type: Travel, On-Site
- Shift: 8 Hour Days (08:00–17:00)
- Hours Per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1580–$1700
- Unit: Gulf Coast Division, Floor 3 (NICU, Pediatric, Adult units)
- Dress Code: Dark Blue Scrubs; NICU policy: "bare below the elbows"
- Work in a top-tier hospital in the Texas Medical Center — excellent clinical exposure to NICU, pediatric, and adult dysphagia cases.
- Grow your skills in Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) interpretation and evidence-based swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and use Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse EMR for documentation.
- Minimum 1 year of hospital-based Speech-Language Pathology experience
- Neonatal experience required — NICU SLP experience preferred
- Experience performing and interpreting Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC?SLP) from ASHA
- Active Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP license)
- Pediatric and adult experience preferred; ability to float between NICU, Pediatric, and Adult units
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Evaluate speech, language, cognition, and swallowing function for patients across the lifespan (neonatal, pediatric, adult).
- Plan, implement, and document individualized, evidence-based SLP intervention plans for dysphagia and communication disorders.
- Perform and analyze Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and provide dysphagia recommendations.
- Provide bedside assessments and treatment in the NICU, pediatrics, and adult units as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, dietitians, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech Magic/Meditech Expanse EMR and comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to infection control policies and hospital standards of care; complete other duties as assigned.
