Outside Sales Representative
A National Stone and reclaimed wood flooring company is seeking a dynamic Outside Selling Professional for the New York & Connecticut territory.
This is an exciting position for a motivated, talented, entrepreneurial spirited salesperson to increase our sales revenue in the NY Regional Metro area. Previous experience must include selling building materials to the trade of designers, architects or builders and have a comprehensive of understanding of the nuances of the field.Experience with stone flooring, stone architectural, wood flooring, or handmade surfaces is a must.
The role requires a self-driven, well-organized individual who has a deep understanding of prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers. This role has a requirement of a minimum of 20 face-to-face meetings per month. Additionally, there are other benchmarks for customer interface that are required.
The NY showroom is part of national network of showrooms, supported by a manufacturing facility in the US. We offer comprehensive training and a support team to make you successful.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet expected sales goals as per your showroom/market expectations.
Manage a multi-state territory and identify and develop relationships with key clients. The Outside Regional Sales position covers a dedicated list of clients in NYC, the outer boroughs of NY and CT. The candidate will go to NYC, and drive to Fairfield and Westchester Counties, and Eastern Long Island regularly.You must have transportation or access to transportation and will be reimbursed for mileage and tolls.
Develop new business relationships through meetings and networking with trade clientele.
Seek new trade clients through industry research and active outreach. 60% of selling time is outside the showroom, and the remainder is in office. There is an expectation of going into Showroom for training purposes for the first 2 months. After that, office days can be at home office.
Maintain repeat clientele.
This candidate should be extremely comfortable running meetings and making presentations.
Attend industry events as applicable such as ICAA events, market specific architect or designer events, showroom openings.
Independently network with trade industry partners to keep abreast of incoming projects.
Keep abreast of details and developments of your orders, to ensure accuracy.
Keep abreast of the building and interior design industries.
Assist in resolving all client problems and complaints when required.
Willingness and ability to self-learn the product list and information pertinent to job success using the tools and information provided by company materials and training schedule.
Learning our proprietary software in-depth is essential.
Develop quotes for your projects,Grow the database of your customers and record in our database
Ensure all pertinent information regarding orders and quote status is kept accurate and up to date in our systems.
Produce weekly sales report using given template: Opportunities / Quotes / Closing business in month / Closing business in upcoming months / Brief bullets of sales activities.
Coordinate deliveries with customer (GC/homeowner etc.) for your generated orders
Collect payment from customers for your generated orders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective liaison between customers and internal departments.
Minimum 5 years in an active selling role to the A & D community.
While administrative assistance is offered and available, computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) is required.
Be Self-motivated to learn the supplied training tools to excel at the position. Formal training is provided for your entire first week, followed by daily product training for an hour for first 2 -3 weeks. After 8 10 weeks, you will spend a week in our Factory & Headquarters.
