Position Description:
The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. The Mammography Technologist uses specialized X-ray equipment to take images of the breast tissue and work with radiologists to interpret the results.The Mammography Technologist helps detect breast cancers early to improve the chances of successful treatment and survival.
Shifts: 4x10s, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-7:30pm
Details of Assignment:
Provides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Performs medical imaging techniques and related procedures to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner.Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Charting System: EPIC
Minimum Experience and Certification Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
- Required: OBMI and ARRT registered (OBMI upon offer)
- Mammography technologist
- Current BLS certificationPreferred: CRASE Training
