Industrial Cook
Adecco is partnering with a growing food production company to hire an experienced Industrial Cook in the Portland, ME area. This role is essential to the manufacturing process, responsible for preparing large-scale batches of food products while maintaining strict quality, safety, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and mix large-volume food batches according to standardized formulas and production schedules
- Follow all food safety requirements, including GMP, HACCP, and internal quality standards
- Accurately measure ingredients and execute batch recipes with consistency and precision
- Monitor product quality and identify any inconsistencies in raw materials or finished goods
- Coordinate workflow between cooking and packaging teams to maintain efficiency and product integrity
- Operate, assemble, and clean processing equipment including pumps and related components
- Perform routine checks such as temperature verification, pH testing, and calibration of equipment
- Maintain detailed and accurate production records
- Communicate effectively with team members and assist in training when needed
- Support production goals by working efficiently and minimizing waste
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or industrial cooking preferred
- Ability to perform basic math, including unit conversions (metric and standard)
- Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented mindset
- Effective communication skills (reading and writing)
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Regular bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, and pulling
- Food manufacturing facility with exposure to heat, humidity, and wet conditions
- Moderate to high noise levels

Pay Details: $21.00 to $26.00 per hour
