Trash Chute Installer

apartmentBlucor placeNashville descriptionContract calendar_month

A fast-growing trash chute services company specializing in the cleaning, repair, and construction of trash and linen chutes, is hiring chute installers / service technicians as 1099 contractors on a project-based, side gig basis.

This role works like a true contractor position: when there's a job at a property, you head out, get it done, and you're done — there's no office to report to, no fixed shifts. You'll install, service, and repair trash chute systems at apartment communities, commercial properties, and construction sites — delivering quality workmanship while representing our client professionally on-site.

This is ideal for someone already working in construction, maintenance, waste management, hauling, sanitation, or related trades who wants extra income and can manage their time alongside their existing work.

Honest heads-up: this is physical, dirty work at times. You may encounter foul odors, trash buildup, leaks, pests, and unsanitary conditions. We're looking for people who can handle unpleasant environments professionally and safely — without complaining or cutting corners.

Responsibilities
  • Install and service trash chute systems
  • Remove damaged chute components and replace parts
  • Work around trash rooms, dumpsters, compactors, and waste areas
  • Use hand and power tools safely
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites when work is completed
  • Follow safety procedures and communicate professionally on-site
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience installing or servicing trash chutes (this is a hard requirement — other trades experience alone does not qualify)
  • Must have your own hand and power tools — tools are not provided
  • Comfortable working in dirty or foul-smelling environments
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to show up on time and complete jobs without constant oversight
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude on-site
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional background in construction, maintenance, waste management, demolition, or restoration
  • Flexible availability to take jobs as they come in

Ideal For People Who:

  • Already have a full-time or part-time job and want extra income
  • Work in trades, maintenance, hauling, sanitation, or construction
  • Don't mind hard, physical work
  • Want flexible supplemental work opportunities with no fixed schedule

Benefits
