Registered Nurse – Pediatrics - RNPED 0603 NS#02
Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift Details:
- 36 hours per week
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts, unpaid lunch)
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holidays required
Weekly Compensation: Up to $2,400 (based on experience)
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN administers medications, monitors patient responses, coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, and upholds professional nursing standards in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have recent pediatric acute care experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Maintain accurate, relevant, and up-to-date patient documentation
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychological, and social)
- Develop and communicate individualized care plans
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Demonstrate competency in charge nurse responsibilities when assigned
- Utilize electronic medical records and nursing informatics systems effectively
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to staff and new team members
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care evaluations
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control practices, and exposure protocols
- Maintain ongoing professional development and continuing education
- Stay current with pediatric care practices and regulatory requirements
- Represent the organization professionally while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Successful completion of required pharmacology examination (as applicable)
- Strong communication skills (read, write, and speak English)
- Recent pediatric nursing experience within the last two years in an acute care setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Pediatric Nursing Certification
- Prior experience in a pediatric acute care environment
- Pediatric acute care setting
- Fast-paced, patient-focused environment requiring strong clinical and communication skills
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays
- Emphasis on patient safety, quality care, and accurate documentation
