Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in rehab and neurological patients, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Specialized rehabilitation unit serving patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, neurological diagnoses, post-stroke, post-aneurysm, post-op surgical, and generalized debility
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required between all health system campuses as needed
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Acute care rehab experience preferred
- Skills required include interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, vital signs assessment, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine), phlebotomy, and telephone triage
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Provide specialized nursing care to rehabilitation patients with neurological and post-surgical diagnoses
- All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
