Position Overview:
The School Clinic Substitute Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing services to students in a school clinic setting during the absence of the assigned school nurse. Working under the general supervision of the school principal and the District School Nurse Administrator, the RN supports student health, safety, and wellness through clinical assessment, medication administration, and coordination of care while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with CCSD policies.

- Work Schedule: As-needed, temporary assignments. Most assignments are full school days of approximately seven (7) hours. Early morning arrival (as early as 7:00 a.m.) and after-school program coverage may be required. Schedules may be modified by CCSD based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform health assessments and provide nursing care to students in the school clinic.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school health protocols.
- Respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies within the scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate documentation using CCSD-approved forms.
- Protect student confidentiality in compliance with FERPA.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators, staff, and district nursing leadership.
- Follow all CCSD policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Report incidents or health concerns promptly to appropriate CCSD personnel.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted RN license (Georgia or Nurse Licensure Compact) required. Current CPR certification required.
- Other requirements:
- Completed fingerprint-based background check
- Completion of CCSD clinic substitute orientation and required training
