Overview:
The Demand Planning Analyst plays a key role in supporting enterprise demand and inventory planning by independently analyzing usage patterns, demand drivers, and operational signals to inform inventory strategies across PPL's storerooms and central warehouses.This role applies advanced analytical techniques, business judgment, and system expertise to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory investment, and support service reliability. The Demand Planning Analyst serves as a trusted analytical partner to Supply Chain, Sourcing, Operations, and Logistics teams, contributing materially to data integrity, planning governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position will report in office on a hybrid schedule and will be based out of PPL's corporate office located in Allentown, PA.
Responsibilities:
The Demand Planning Analyst position may be hired at the Associate, Intermediate, or Senior level. The position responsibilities listed below reflect those of the Associate level. Additional/varying responsibilities maybe included for other levels of the Demand Planning Analyst role.
- Independently analyze historical consumption, demand variability, and business drivers to develop actionable demand planning insights and inventory recommendations across multiple operating companies.
- Lead the ongoing maintenance and refinement of inventory planning parameters (minimums, maximums, safety stock, reorder points), ensuring alignment with demand patterns, service targets, and governance standards established by department leadership.
- Evaluate replenishment and stocking strategies to balance reliability requirements with working capital, carrying cost, and obsolescence risk objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for demand and inventory data within PPL’s ERP environment, ensuring data accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to planning standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced inventory and demand planning reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support executive reviews, operating cadence meetings, and strategic decision making.
- Proactively identify opportunities for material rationalization, demand aggregation, and inventory optimization by partnering with sourcing, logistics, and operating teams.
- Analyze slow moving and obsolete inventory trends, developing data supported recommendations for redeployment, disposition, or policy changes.
- Support storm and emergency preparedness planning by translating forecasted demand signals into inventory risk assessments for critical outage and restoration materials.
- Diagnose and resolve moderate inventory and demand related system or data issues; escalate complex structural or governance issues with well defined problem statements and recommendations.
- Collaborate cross functionally to understand evolving business needs and translate them into data driven planning insights that inform decisions at both operational and leadership levels
- Serve in assigned roles supporting PPL’s emergency and storm response model, as required.

Required Experience:
Associate Level:
Education- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, IT or other technical field.
- Experience analyzing large datasets and developing reports using spreadsheets, databases, or business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Advanced experience in data mining, creation of complex spreadsheets and databases, and use of business intelligence tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and communicate analysis and recommendations clearly.
Intermediate Level:
Education- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, IT or other technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, demand planning, or analytics focused roles.
- Experience analyzing large datasets and developing reports using spreadsheets, databases, or business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Advanced experience in data mining, creation of complex spreadsheets and databases, and use of business intelligence tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and communicate analysis and recommendations clearly.
Senior Level:
Education- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, IT or other technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, demand planning, or analytics focused roles.
- Experience analyzing large datasets and developing reports using spreadsheets, databases, or business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
