Modeling and Simulation Engineer - RF/EW with Security Clearance

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Modeling & Simulation Lead Engineer to support advanced research and development initiatives for a government customer. This individual will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing complex simulation models across RF/Electronic Warfare (EW) and power systems domains.The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, utility industry experience, and a strong background in integrated resource planning and grid modeling.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the development, configuration, and execution of advanced modeling and simulation environments for RF/EW and power systems applications
- Build and maintain high-fidelity models using tools such as FEKO, PSS®E, and SINCAL
- Support grid software modeling efforts, including power flow, stability, and contingency analysis
- Utilize additional engineering tools such as SKM, ETAP, or similar platforms for system analysis and validation
- Drive integrated resource planning (IRP) modeling efforts, including scenario analysis and long-term system planning
- Establish modeling frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to support scalable and repeatable simulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and government stakeholders to align modeling efforts with mission objectives
- Lead technical research and development initiatives, including prototyping and evaluation of new modeling techniques and tools
- Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and analysts
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (PhD preferred)
- Active Top Secret security clearance
- 8+ years of experience in modeling and simulation, with a focus on RF/EW and/or power systems
- Hands-on experience with FEKO for electromagnetic simulation and analysis
- Strong proficiency with power system modeling tools such as PSS®E and SINCAL
- Experience with additional tools such as SKM, ETAP, or similar power engineering software
- Prior experience working for or supporting an electric utility, including integrated resource planning (IRP)
- Demonstrated ability to lead modeling and simulation efforts from concept through implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience supporting government or defense-related R&D programs
- Familiarity with multi-domain modeling (e.g., coupling RF/EW with power systems or other physical systems)
- Experience developing custom models or integrating multiple simulation platforms
- Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
