Job Summary:
Ultrasound Echo Technician position available in Bronx, New York. This role involves performing echocardiogram testing, utilizing ultrasound imaging techniques, and reporting findings to cardiologists and physicians. The position requires maintaining patient records, adhering to safety protocols, and participating in quality improvement activities to support optimal patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 7.5 hours per day, minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Completion of an appropriate training program for Ultrasound Technologist, registration as a Diagnostics Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International, and current BCLS certification according to American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards.
- Preferred Qualifications: Stress testing experience, BLS certification.
- Additional Information:
- Confirms patient identification and reviews physician orders via Electronic Medical Records.
- Performs echocardiogram testing using ultrasound techniques and reports significant findings.
- Maintains and documents patient information, prepares VCR tapes for review, and follows medical equipment protocols.
- Keeps daily statistics and maintains a clean and safe environment following infection control and safety standards.
- Participates in continuing education, performance improvement activities, and team building efforts.
- Effectively utilizes electronic and paper medical records and maintains clinical competency.
- Responds to patient needs and assists with unit coverage as assigned by the charge nurse.
