Position Title: CDL Driver for Rockland County or Hudson Valley Region
Temp To Perm Role
30 Hours per week:
8:30AM – 3PM
Hourly Pay $21 / HR
CDL DRIVER
Summary of Position
The CDL Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable transportation and support services for members of one of the Agency’s Senior Activity Centers (SACs). This role extends beyond driving, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for older adults by helping them remain connected, active, and independent within the community.The Driver also assists with communication, coordination, and observation of member well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and timely transportation for SAC members to and from scheduled activities, including field trips and shopping excursions.
- Assist the SAC Manager in communicating with members and/or their families regarding transportation updates, including delays or schedule changes.
- Support coordination of transportation logistics for various member activities.
- Observe and report any concerns related to members, including changes in behavior, temperament, health status, hygiene, or daily routines.
- Maintain a courteous, respectful, and supportive environment for all members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the SAC Manager or Agency leadership.
- Adhere to all Agency Personnel Policies and Practices at all times.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, B, or C with Passenger (P) endorsement required.
- Clean driving record is mandatory.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and demonstrate sound judgment and professionalism.
- Ability to interact courteously and compassionately with older adults.
- Must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in random testing as required.
- Must pass and maintain a valid DOT physical in accordance with New York State DMV regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Prior experience operating commercial buses or passenger vehicles preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Position requires regular interaction with older adults in a community-based setting.
- Emphasis on safety, reliability, and member care.
- Flexibility may be required to accommodate scheduling needs and special events.
Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
