Job Description :

We are seeking a strategic, metrics-driven Director of Sales & Proposal Operations to transform our competitive sales processes and drive measurable business outcomes. This leader will primarily oversee RFP writers and proposal project managers while implementing data-driven optimization across all sales-enabling activities.
The ideal candidate will bring operational excellence to modernize our proposal workflows, establish robust performance metrics, and elevate how we show up in competitive sales cycles through enhanced cross-functional efficiency across Sales, Product, Operations, and Customer Intelligence teams.

This leadership role combines deep expertise in RFP/proposal management with demonstrated success implementing operational excellence methodologies and measurable process improvements that directly impact win rates and revenue performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and scale a high-performing RFP writing and proposal organization with defined quality standards, productivity benchmarks, and performance metrics
  • Build repeatable, SLA-driven RFP response processes, reducing cycle time while maintaining rigorous quality checkpoints
  • Optimize proposal content libraries and AI-enabled automation (RFPIO/Responsive, ChatGPT, Salesforce), achieving efficiency gains and higher content utilization accuracy
  • Implement advanced proposal analytics to track win rates, section effectiveness, competitive positioning, and bill-test execution performance
  • Develop capacity and forecasting models to balance proposal volume with team utilization
  • Optimize proposal workflows, eliminating waste and increasing throughput
  • Design and maintain operational dashboards across win rates, cycle times, content performance, and team productivity
  • Create governance & accountability frameworks for high-value, multi-threaded pursuit efforts
  • Lead weekly operational and win/loss reviews with sales leadership, driving corrective action and strategy refinement
  • Serve as escalation for priority opportunities, reporting on pipeline health, risk, and resourcing
  • Define and enforce quality standards for all client-facing proposal content with regular audits
  • Drive value-message consistency and effectiveness scoring across proposal types
  • Leverage content performance analytics to correlate messaging strategies with win probability
  • Deliver exec-level reporting on proposal quality, consistency, and business impact tied to ROI
  • Own departmental resource planning and forecasting aligned to revenue & sales growth targets
  • Develop and execute proposal operations maturity models with roadmaps and benchmarks
  • Lead prioritization and escalation decisions across competing demands and timelines
  • Monitor competitive trends through analytics to inform positioning and response strategies
  • Manage KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for team efficiency and impact

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required with 7+ years of experience in proposal management or sales enablement
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience with RFP platforms (RFPIO/Responsive, Loopio, etc.) and Salesforce
  • Proficiency in generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) and experience implementing AI or automation in sales workflows
  • Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills with exceptional attention to content quality
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Strong project management skills and stakeholder management ability.
  • Exceptional communication, editing, and content quality review capabilities.

Benefits eligibility may differ depending on full-time or part-time status. Compensation depends on the applicable US geographic market. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $142,000 - 165,000 salary, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
