Production Supervisor (Swing Shift) Location: Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

The Opportunity We are seeking a Swing Shift Operations Supervisor to lead a skilled team in a precision manufacturing environment. You will oversee the production of precision-machined metal components, ensuring safety, quality, and output meet rigorous standards.As the primary evening leader, you will drive operational excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Manage daily schedules and swing shift operations. Ensure seamless "hand-offs" from the day shift to maintain production momentum.
- Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor technical machining professionals. Foster a cooperative environment and resolve departmental challenges.
- Safety & Quality: Maintain a safe work environment and provide incident support. Ensure strict quality adherence, track Non-Conforming Material (NCM), and lead improvement initiatives.
- Performance Metrics: Drive accountability for productivity, process yield, manufacturing variances, and tactical execution of business controls.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align resources and schedules with business goals. Assist in capacity planning for personnel and equipment.
- Experience: Background in machining or precision manufacturing as a lead contributor or formal supervisor.
- Management Skills: Proven ability to lead technical teams, execute business processes, and apply critical thinking to complex problems.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Windows OS and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with production data analytics.
- Education: High school diploma required; technical degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- Preferred: Experience with ERP/MES software (Oracle, Opcenter) and prior second-shift management experience.
- Salary: $76,000 – $128,000 per year

Responsibilities

- Team Leadership: Provide coaching and professional development to a highly skilled technical team. Foster a cooperative culture and implement solutions to team or departmental challenges.
- Performance Tracking: Drive team accountability against key operational metrics, including productivity, process yield, manufacturing variances, and continuous improvement activities.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to capacity planning by reviewing personnel, equipment, and space assets. Ensure tactical execution of business processes and controls.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Maintain strong relationships with cross-functional managers to ensure resources and schedules meet broader business goals.
Note: This role requires a start time between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to attend day-shift meetings.
