Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technician to join a growing service and maintenance team supporting heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This role is ideal for professionals with strong diagnostic capabilities, hands-on mechanical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will independently perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered trucks and equipment while maintaining high service standards and productivity.
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday
- Day Shift
- No weekends or overnight shifts
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty commercial vehicles
- Perform major and minor mechanical repairs according to manufacturer and industry standards
- Inspect vehicles and identify required maintenance or safety-related repairs
- Repair and maintain:
- Diesel engines
- Electrical systems
- Air and hydraulic brake systems
- Steering and suspension systems
- Driveline and drivetrain components
- Transmissions and differentials
- Remove, install, and replace major components including injectors, clutches, bearings, cylinder heads, camshafts, batteries, and transmissions
- Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair verification
- Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately
- Conduct road tests when necessary to verify repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and compliance standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and technical training programs
- Mentor junior technicians when needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in diesel or automotive technology preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks
- Strong experience with diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with:
- Engine repair
- Transmission systems
- Driveline components
- Steering systems
- Brake systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and repair documentation
- Proficient with diagnostic software and repair tools
- ASE Certification and 608/609 Certifications preferred
- Must possess personal tools required to perform assigned duties
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
- Ability to obtain a CDL preferred
