Job Description
  • Serve as the senior electrical technical representative for the owner throughout project execution.
  • Oversee the Construction Manager and confirm electrical construction activities align with the approved design, schedule, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight for modular power-generation and BESS buildouts.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, equipment data sheets, calculations, submittals, RFIs, redlines, and proposed field changes.
  • Evaluate the installation and integration of BESS equipment, transformers, switchgear, inverters, generators, MV/LV distribution systems, cabling, grounding, protection, controls, and auxiliary electrical systems.
  • Monitor construction progress, workmanship, quality, safety, and compliance with IFC drawings and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with the owner, EPC team, Construction Manager, engineering consultants, contractors, OEMs, vendors, and commissioning teams.
  • Identify potential design, constructability, installation, interface, and schedule issues before they affect project execution.
  • Review and help resolve electrical field issues, nonconformance reports, design conflicts, and equipment-interface concerns.
  • Participate in project meetings, construction reviews, technical workshops, and progress discussions.
  • Review testing procedures, commissioning plans, energization sequences, and system turnover documentation.
  • Support equipment inspections, factory and site acceptance testing, startup, commissioning, energization, and performance verification.
  • Confirm punch-list items, as-built drawings, testing records, operating documentation, and turnover packages are complete.
  • Provide technical recommendations to project leadership regarding risk, quality, schedule, constructability, and contractor performance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Electrical Engineer - Power Generation should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Approximately 15-30 years of electrical engineering and power-project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the engineering, construction, commissioning, or startup of a large power plant or generation facility.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction activities and the execution of large EPC or EPCM projects.
  • Experience with medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure, including transformers, switchgear, power distribution, protection, grounding, cabling, and controls.
  • Previous involvement in construction oversight, Owner's Engineer support, field engineering, commissioning, or technical project leadership.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, equipment specifications, test reports, submittals, and construction documentation.
  • Experience coordinating with construction managers, EPC contractors, OEMs, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, technical decision-making, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to travel to or maintain a regular presence at the Bowling Green project as required.
