SCOPE/GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Consulting Analyst (Healthcare Focus) supports and leads analytical and advisory components of client-facing engagements by evaluating operational, financial, and clinical workflows and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
This role blends consulting responsibilities with detailed analysis, enabling organizations to improve operational efficiency, financial performance, patient access, and workflow standardization. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical capability, structured thinking, curiosity, and the ability to own defined workstreams, from assessment through implementation planning.

The Consulting Analyst I actively collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, propose solutions, and monitor progress toward desired outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analytical, Operational & Advisory Support
  • Collect, validate, and interpret operational, financial, and productivity data across multiple locations.
  • Identify performance gaps, workflow bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities through structured analysis.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings to assess needs, validate project objectives, and uncover root-cause issues.
  • Translate analytical findings into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of future-state workflows, improvement of roadmaps, and change impact assessments.
  • Develop dashboards, comparative summaries, and visual presentations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Communicate key themes and recommendations to executives, managers, and operational leadership.
Deliverable Creation & Business Analysis
  • Prepare high-quality deliverables including executive-ready presentations, written reports, operational assessments, financial summaries, and workflow documentation.
  • Create data visualizations, dashboards, process flowcharts, and implementation of roadmaps to support embedded recommendations.
  • Analyze financial, operational, and volume-based data trends and synthesize conclusions into clear insights.
  • Validate and transform datasets into meaningful summaries that highlight risks, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Ensure deliverables are accurate, logically structured, and formatted for leadership review.
Client Engagement & Workstream Coordination
  • Own discrete workstreams with accountability for timelines, stakeholder communication, and outputs.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and status meetings.
  • Scope analytical problems and define structured methods for gathering and validating information.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to clients and internal leadership.
  • Document requirements, decisions, risks, and follow-ups across multiple areas of engagement.
  • Manage tasks, schedules, and deliverable progress while escalating risks or changes as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions to build alignment and agreement on recommended actions.
Process Optimization
  • Develop current state and future-state process maps to highlight workflow gaps, opportunities, and sequencing.
  • Evaluate operational impacts, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
  • Support workstream planning, milestone definition, and timeline development.
Internal Collaboration
  • Provide insights and observations during internal strategy, scoping, or design sessions.
  • Support quality reviews of deliverables prior to client delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting templates, processes, and team workflow tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in analysis, operational support, consulting, or similar role.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or deadlines.
  • Prior experience in healthcare or healthcare focused consulting environments preferred.
  • Exposure to operational workflows (revenue cycle, scheduling, billing, patient access, clinical operations or finance) preferred.
  • Experience with dashboard development, structured analysis, or process documentation preferred.
