- level position.
- The ability to create, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines, preferably using Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Know how to manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Failover Clusters.
- Know how to support a variety of mass storage arrays and RAID configurations.
- Know how to use Microsoft PowerShell to automate tedious, repetitive, and/or error prone tasks related to installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of IT systems and services.
- Know how to install a server into a rack, load and configure a Windows Operating System on it.
- Know how to Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot a server and load an image on to it with Windows Deployment Server.
- Know how to replace/install RAM, hard drives, network cards, and storage cards in a computer/server.
- Know how to troubleshoot basic network troubleshooting, such as IP conflicts, DNS resolution problems, being able to determine the status of a switch port.
- Be able to evaluate effectiveness of existing technologies on site and considering emerging technologies.
- Add, configure, and manage Roles and Features on Microsoft Server (current Version) including but not limited to:
- File and Storage Services
- Print and Document Services
- Remote Desktop Services
- Know how to troubleshoot Windows Server Update Services issues, to include how to use the SFC and DISM programs.
- Manages tape backup server, tape backup library, and tape workstations used to archive user data and perform system backups, refilling the inventory of blank tapes, managing other than normal operations, identifying / correcting unexpected situations (e.g.
- Configure and monitor systems/servers utilizing Windows Admin Center.
