Asset Management Vice President Private Credit
Arena specializes in off-the-run, stressed, distressed, illiquid and esoteric special situation transactions through originations and acquisitions of asset-oriented investments across a wide array of asset types (including but not limited to private direct corporate credit, commercial real estate bridge lending, and commercial and consumer assets).
Quaestor Advisors, LLC (Quaestor) is an affiliated Special Servicer, which provides mid and back office services, including asset management, to Arena Investors and external clients.
Quaestor is expanding its Portfolio & Asset Management team through the addition of a Vice President focused on private credit and asset-based lending. This individual will manage a segment of the portfolio independently and report to the Head of Asset Management.Responsibilities include portfolio monitoring, valuation, and maximizing returns across a diversified private credit portfolio. Ideal candidates are organized, self-motivated, and able to collaborate effectively across all internal groups.
Responsibilities
Independently manage a segment of the private credit and asset-based portfolio, including valuation, monitoring, and reporting
Serve as a player-coach, managing complex investments while mentoring Associates and Analysts
Lead re-underwriting, structuring, and negotiation of amendments and add-on financings
Manage workout and restructuring situations for stressed credits, including recovery strategy and negotiation
Direct outside counsel through foreclosure, bankruptcy, and other restructuring processes
Conduct market and industry analysis to identify credit trends and emerging risks
Monitor macro and sector trends affecting portfolio performance and brief senior management
Lead implementation of dashboards, reporting tools, and AI-driven process improvements across the Asset Management platform
Present portfolio reviews and restructuring recommendations to the investment committee
Draft investment committee memoranda on workout, restructuring, and amendment approaches
Analyze collateral, cash flows, and capital structure to guide recovery and restructuring paths
Extensive interface with origination, finance, legal, and operations teams
Assist in documenting process frameworks for portfolio and workout management
Requirements
The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
7+ years of related experience in private credit, direct lending, asset-based lending, portfolio management, or restructuring
Strong fundamental credit and negotiating skills, with deep loan document familiarity
Exposure to legal processes, including real estate/UCC foreclosure and bankruptcy; able to direct counsel through the restructure process
Exposure to diverse credit structures and industries
Ability to write memoranda recommending workout or restructure approaches
Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills across varied capital structures
Understanding of risk management approaches and portfolio-level market analysis
Demonstrated ability to independently manage investments and mentor junior team members
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to investment committees
MBA or CFA a plus
