Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Remote, USA About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead our people strategy, culture, talent management, organizational development, and human resources operations.

The CHRO will partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to build a high-performing organization, attract and retain exceptional talent, strengthen employee engagement, and develop scalable people programs that support business growth.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive people and HR strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on organizational strategy, workforce planning, and company culture.
  • Lead talent acquisition, executive recruiting, onboarding, retention, and succession planning.
  • Build programs that attract, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing employees.
  • Establish and strengthen company culture, employee engagement, and organizational values.
  • Develop compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee recognition programs.
  • Lead leadership development, career development, coaching, and learning initiatives.
  • Establish scalable HR policies, processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Oversee employee relations and ensure a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop workforce analytics and HR KPIs to support data-driven people decisions.
  • Partner with Finance on workforce planning, compensation budgets, headcount planning, and organizational costs.
  • Lead organizational design, change management, and transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee HR technology, HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and people analytics.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines for critical roles.
  • Advise executives and managers on performance, organizational effectiveness, and people-related matters.
  • Lead and mentor the HR/People team and establish a high-performance HR function.
  • Develop strategies to support employee productivity and collaboration in a remote and distributed work environment.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior HR leadership role such as CHRO, Chief People Officer, VP of HR, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience developing and executing enterprise-level people strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of talent acquisition, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Experience building and scaling HR organizations in high-growth companies.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. employment laws, HR compliance, and workplace policies.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with CEOs and executive leadership teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people strategy with business outcomes.
  • Experience leading remote, hybrid, and distributed teams.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, AI, startup, or rapidly growing organization.
  • Experience scaling an organization through significant growth or transformation.
  • Strong experience with HRIS, people analytics, and HR technology platforms.
  • Experience developing executive compensation and incentive programs.
  • Experience leading diversity, inclusion, belonging, and employee experience initiatives.
  • Master's degree, MBA, or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
