Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift | 13-Week Travel Nurse Assignment – Durham, NC
PICU RN Travel Nurse – Night shift in Durham, NC. Seeking compassionate pediatric critical care nurses (BLS, PALS) with recent PICU or cardiac ICU experience to join a 13-week travel nursing assignment at a state-of-the-art facility.

- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week — PICU night shift / critical care nursing schedule
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, as needed
- Orientation: Bi-weekly, 36 hours
- Minimum 1 year of recent PICU, pediatric critical care, or relevant pediatric cardiac ICU experience
- Active North Carolina (NC) RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Experience with Epic EMR/charting preferred (Epic experience a plus for travel nurse roles)
- Previous experience in charge roles, community hospitals, LTAC, or Level I/II trauma centers preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- One supervisory reference from the past year required
- First-time travel nurses welcome; local candidates within 75 miles considered (local pay rate applies)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in a 20-bed pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (PICU / pediatric cardiac ICU)
- Assess, monitor, and manage complex congenital heart conditions and post-surgical cardiac patients
- Operate and care for patients on advanced life-support technologies, including VADs, ECMO, and CRRT
- Administer medications, blood products, and perform critical interventions and emergency response as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, IV team, social services) to coordinate pediatric critical care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic EMR and adhere to charting standards
- Participate in rapid response situations and float to other units as required
- Follow infection control, patient safety protocols, and participate in ongoing education and orientation modules
