Industrial Maintenance Technician - Electrical

Join our team as a Maintenance technician. Work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks to include troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.

All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company, including safety.

  • Essential Functions
  • Setup, install, adjust, repair, and maintain production equipment, including conveyors, motors, gear boxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation systems (PLC, HMIs, industrial instruments and sensors), variable frequency drives, pumps, electrical cabinets, HVAC, air compressors, lifting equipment, building maintenance, etc.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Perform routine, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Inspect regularly and as needed to ensure proper operation.
  • Complex Problem Solving - Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options. Implement effective solutions.
  • Operation Monitoring - Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the production line and auxiliary machinery are working properly with maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Including routine inspection rounds.
  • Operation and Control - Control the operation of equipment or systems
  • Medium and low voltage electrical troubleshooting.
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Completes training by supervisor.
  • Complies with all safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Support, design, and execute minor and major projects.
  • Keep tools and shop equipment well maintained, as well as housekeeping.

Pay is based on experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Design – effective knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Mechanical – effective knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Computers – effective knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Electrical and electronics – effective knowledge of industrial electrical/electronic equipment and systems
  • Judgment and Decision Making – consideration of the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Able to work in time sensitive and sometimes stressful situations.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks and do research to find answers in some cases with little guidance.
  • Able to follow directions, procedures, and guidelines as directed by supervisor.
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with outdoor exposure.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and changing shifts, as needed.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be organized, thorough, reliable, and dependable.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 2 Year technical degree (preferred).
  • Certifications are not required, although they can be useful as a means of demonstrating the ability to handle the rigors of the job effectively.
  • Industrial electricity or Industrial Automation maintenance background required.
  • Capability to manage problems related to automated production plants and machinery.
  • 3+ year's maintenance experience in a manufacturing capacity.
  • Demonstrable computer abilities, Windows (Word and Excel), Internet and email, and other relevant applications.
  • Demonstrable Advanced Analytical/Troubleshooting Skills, including PLC, Electrical, Mechanical, and other related systems, shop tools, and industrial equipment.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high-noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.

This position is designated safety sensitive.
