Senior Civil Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Jackson, MI, to provide technical leadership for natural gas capital projects. You will oversee civil design for distribution and storage facilities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
This role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and a Michigan PE license preference, focusing on scoping, design review, and construction support.

responsibilities:
- Identify and define the civil engineering scope for gas distribution, transmission, and storage projects, including site design and environmental permitting.
- Manage contract engineering services and provide rigorous technical review of drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with IBC, AISC, and ACI codes.
- Assist Project Managers with contracting construction services, conducting site inspections, and resolving technical field issues during the construction phase.
- Regularly update leadership on project status, managing risks related to scope, quality, cost, and schedule while overseeing final closeout activities.
- Travel to project sites (3-5 days per week) to perform pre-bid walkdowns, quality inspections, and red-line reviews in heavy industrial environments.
