Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Athens, TX 75751
Start Date: June 1, 2026Location: Athens, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), 6 days on / 8 days off rotation. Patient ratio 3:1. Weekend coverage required. 12-hour orientation provided.
Highlights:
- Emergency Department serving all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
- 22-bed unit with approximately 75 visits per day
- Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke Certification
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and interpretation services
- 91-day assignment with one pre-approved time-off period
- Community hospital setting offering diverse emergency care experience
Requirements:
- Active Texas RN license or compact state license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; 1.5 years ER experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Epic charting system experience required
- Community hospital and Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skills include IV therapy, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, procedural sedation, triage, and phlebotomy
- Cannot reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris
