Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer are:

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for automated packaging equipment
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software
• Support projects from concept development through final production and customer acceptance
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical, controls, manufacturing, and service
• Specify materials, components, and hardware suitable for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaging environments
• Perform tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA)
• Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design refinement
• Review designs for compliance with applicable safety, industry, and regulatory standards
• Assist with product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and standardization efforts
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, assembly, and field service as needed

The Successful Applicant

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial machinery or automation
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience designing moving mechanisms, machine frames, and mechanical assemblies
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, and fabrication
• Familiarity with automated equipment used in packaging or processing environments
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team‑based environment
