Position Summary
The Drafter II works under supervision of CNC Programming Supervisor preparing technical and mechanical drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a specific part of machinery and mechanical devices and the manufacture of equipment.
May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts. Perform a modeling, drafting or Engineering Change Order process with minimum errors. Knowledge of Mastercam is a plus. Have knowledge of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Prepare technical drawings and resolve associated mechanical and fabrication problems
May participate in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts
Perform a modeling, drafting, or Engineering Change Order (ECO) process with minimum errors
Prepare drawings showing the detail and method of assembly of a wide variety of machinery and mechanical devices.
Indicate dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements on drawings.
Create to scale CAD drawings from sketches or parts
Maintain drawing database
Perform cost analysis based on manufacturing capability and design quality
