Finance Systems Analyst IV (D365 F&O)
General Job Description:
The Finance System Analyst III is a key contributor within the Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) team, responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, and ongoing optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O).This role combines hands-on finance and accounting process expertise with technical system knowledge to deliver end-to-end workflow solutions, financial reporting enablement, and planning/budgeting capabilities across the enterprise.
The Finance System Analyst III translates complex business requirements into solution designs, prepares solution diagrams and presentation materials for stakeholder alignment, and partners with cross-functional teams to assess current-state processes and enable future-state improvements.This individual also contributes to ongoing system support and optimization efforts following go-live, ensuring sustained value delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
D365 F&O Implementation & Solution Design- Support the end-to-end implementation of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Cash & Bank Management.
- Develop and present solution diagrams that clearly illustrate end-to-end finance and accounting workflows, data flows, and system integration points.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to translate functional requirements into detailed Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and user stories.
- Participate in fit/gap analysis sessions to evaluate D365 F&O capabilities against business requirements and recommend configuration or customization approaches.
- Support system configuration, data migration validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) throughout implementation phases.
- Conduct current-state assessments of accounting and finance processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and automation opportunities within D365 F&O.
- Partner with process owners, controllers, and finance leadership to design future-state workflows that leverage D365 F&O standard functionality.
- Develop process documentation including workflow maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and role-based responsibility matrices.
- Support change management activities by preparing enablement materials, conducting training sessions, and providing hands-on user coaching during system transitions.
- Support the design and configuration of financial reporting solutions within D365 F&O, including Financial Reporter, Management Reporter, and Power BI integrations.
- Assist in enabling planning, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities by translating business planning requirements into system configuration.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to define report specifications, validate data accuracy, and ensure reporting outputs align with organizational standards.
- Develop user guides and quick-reference materials to support self-service reporting and budget management by finance teams.
- Provide post-implementation support by triaging functional issues, troubleshooting system behavior, and coordinating resolution with technical teams.
- Monitor system performance, user adoption metrics, and support ticket trends to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and prioritize enhancement requests from Finance & Accounting stakeholders, preparing business cases and impact assessments.
- Stay current on D365 F&O release updates, new features, and best practices to proactively recommend system optimizations.
Specific Qualifications:
Required- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business/systems analysis with a focus on Finance & Accounting processes.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or comparable ERP platforms (e.g., AX 2012, SAP, Oracle Financials).
- Demonstrated experience supporting ERP implementations through at least two full project lifecycles.
- Working knowledge of financial reporting tools and planning/budgeting processes.
- Strong ability to create solution diagrams, process flow documentation, and stakeholder-ready presentations.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
- Experience developing and delivering end-user training programs and documentation.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, PMP, CBAP, MB-310, or similar).
- Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or Financial Reporter for D365 F&O.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, and requirements tracking.
- Experience with change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci).
- Background in shared services or centralized operations environments.
