Infectious Disease Physician Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Practice Setting: Combination of inpatient and outpatient care Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing (flexible contract options) EMR Systems: Cerner and Athena Job Requirements Licensure: Active NC medical license required Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease Fellowship: Infectious Disease fellowship preferred Required Certifications: BLS Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 45 days, with expedited privileges for providers with clean histories Privileges: Temporary hospital privileges available Responsibilities Patient Care: Comprehensive management of infectious disease cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings Rounding: Required for both inpatient and outpatient units Admissions: Yes, admissions required as part of hospital care Call Coverage: 24-hour beeper call with a 30-minute response time Supervision: Required to supervise Advance Practice Providers (PA/NP) Required Skills and Procedures Microscopic specimen evaluation Management of vascular access devices/central venous catheters Familiarity with intravenous medications and central line placement Skilled in aspiration of abscesses, arthrocentesis, lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, and liver biopsies Schedule & Holiday Coverage Holidays Covered: 4th of July, Thanksgiving, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Christmas Day, Labor Day Call Back and Patient Volume: Information to be provided upon further inquiry Benefits Compensation: Competitive hourly and on-call rates Travel & Lodging: Assistance provided, with accommodation near Charlotte Regional Airport This is a fantastic opportunity for an infectious disease physician looking to work near a major North Carolina city, with a high level of professional support and a manageable credentialing process.
