GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST (MUNITIONS ACCOUNTABLE SYS OFF) with Security Clearance

Duties The primary purpose of this position is:
  • To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) providing conventional munitions maintenance management as the Munitions Accountable Systems Officer (MASO). Serving as the Single Point Accountable Property Officer (APO) for munitions accountability, provides installation level oversight as well as management of the conventional munitions stockpile. As an Air Reserve Technician (ART), provides training to reservists in the accomplishments of tasks herein.
Duties: 1: Wing munitions Accountable Property Officer for Munitions: Performs the responsibilities of the Wing MASO to include managing the authorization, requisitioning, receiving, maintaining, storing, handling, delivering and disposal of non
  • nuclear munitions and to develop, implement, operate, and analyze munitions accounts to include inventory controlling, inspection and item accounting.

2: Manages Munitions Operations Element overseeing Wing munitions programs.

3: Enforces all Federal, State, DoD, USAF, and local regulations concerning hazardous materials/waste munitions.
4: Enforces Wing's compliance with munitions safety, storage compatibility, NEW limits, and stockpile security requirements.

5: Functions as quality assurance advisor.

Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for a small shop.

  • AFSC: 2W0X1 Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, General Supply Series 2001.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge in a broad range of munitions operations, inventory management, and accountability techniques, processes, and procedures.

or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level.
TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

Comprehensive knowledge of conventional munitions maintenance and storage procedures.
Knowledge of the USAF Technical Order Program and its certification and documentation procedures.
Knowledge of the operation of weapons and employing them in base contingency and exercise situations.

Knowledge and ability to use the Air Force Combat Ammunition System.
Knowledge of munitions inventory management and supply systems, techniques, and responsibilities.
  1. Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods applicable to munitions operations.
Knowledge of munitions distribution facilities and munitions storage functions and techniques.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of personnel management and EEO directives, standards, processes, and procedures.
  1. Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems, and to develop timely and economical solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to give oral and written presentations and briefings.
  1. Knowledge of munitions accountability practices and procedures.
Knowledge of applicable personnel, manpower, time, and attendance, and budgeting instructions, guidelines, and requirements.
Knowledge of the Agile Munitions Support Tool (AMST).
  1. Knowledge of how a variety of munitions, armament components and accessories are assembled, disassembled, and operated.

Knowledge of automated and manual accounting systems.

Knowledge of ground and explosive safety.

Knowledge and ability to coordinate munitions policy, sourcing data and technical interpretation with staff, higher headquarters, other bases, Engineers, contractors and Item managers and lead commands.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1.

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements.
Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).
The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
  1. May be required to fly in a commercial and/or military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments.
  2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  1. This is a testing designated position (TDP).
The employee is subject to random drug testing.
  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  2. May be required to work uncommon tours of duty.
  3. Personal protective equipment must be worn in compliance with safety and health directives.
  4. Incumbent may be required to secure a valid state, commercial driver's license with hazardous materials endorsement.

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay.
