Our client, a food manufacturing and processing leader in the Greater New York Metropolitan area, is currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer to join their facility. This is an excellent opportunity to succeed a retiring veteran professional and lead a dedicated team of mechanics in a fast-paced production environment.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on supervisory leadership and technical direction to plant maintenance mechanics across daily operations.
- Oversee, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electrical and mechanical production equipment.
- Minimize downtime by rapidly diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues on the production floor.
- Maintain and repair high-speed packaging machinery, high-volume processing equipment, and ammonia/freon refrigeration systems.
- Utilize computer systems to manage work orders, track facility maintenance data, and monitor equipment performance.
- Partner with plant operations to maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and safety compliance standards (HACCP / SQF regulations).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education and/or Certification Requirement: High School Diploma or GED required;
- Experience Requirement: 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Management Requirement: 2+ years of direct supervisory or team lead experience managing mechanics and technicians in a plant setting.
- Proven capability in managing preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting root-cause issues in high-volume production, and operating within a Monday-Friday work schedule.
- Strong expertise in electrical systems and comprehensive mechanical systems. Proficiency with food plant packaging machinery, plant refrigeration equipment, and computer software applications.
