Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) position at a state/government-run skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Vestal, NY, requiring a valid NY RN license and a minimum of 1 year of LTC or related experience.
Details- Long-term care setting within a 300-bed state/government-run facility offering skilled nursing, rehabilitation therapies, memory care, and wound care services
- Patient population includes residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
- Patient ratio is approximately 1:18–20
- Evening shift, 8-hour shifts (14:45–23:15), 5 days per week (40 hrs/week)
- Every other weekend required upon center request
- No floating between units required
- Charting system is Point of Care (PCC/PointClickCare); experience preferred but not required for consideration
- Active NY State RN license required — no license encumbrances permitted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required; candidates with recent rehab, med/surg, or hospital experience will also be considered
- Must be able to pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
- Strong attendance, punctuality, and dependability required
- Administer medications and treatments, perform accurate medication passes, and monitor and report changes in resident condition
- Supervise CNAs and complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies
- Proof of NY RN license must be provided at the time of consideration
- Relias compliance modules must be completed no later than 3 days prior to the assignment start date; module access is sent via email within 48 hours of offer acceptance
- Compliance onboarding takes approximately 1.5–2 weeks
- Any call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours advance notice
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO will not be approved after an offer is made, and candidates cannot take every holiday off
- Shift cannot be changed once an offer is made
- Start dates are scheduled every 2 weeks in alignment with the facility's orientation schedule
- Any solid-colored scrubs and closed-toe shoes are required
- Free on-site parking is available
