Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager - Construction - New London, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion
  • Developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and forecasts
  • Leading project teams, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field staff
  • Managing client relationships and serving as the primary point of contact
  • Coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Overseeing procurement, contract administration, and subcontractor buyouts
  • Reviewing and processing RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Monitoring project costs and maintaining financial controls
  • Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Leading project meetings and providing executive-level reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements
  • Managing project closeout and turnover activities

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of construction experience
  • Extensive experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects
  • Background in medical, office, educational, institutional, or commercial developments
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing project teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
  • Experience managing projects valued at $20M+ preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and project controls
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
