Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in cost and document management principles and related systems
  • 2+ recent years of experience working within the AEC space
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent or 8 years equivalent experience plus a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Procore
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Strong Microsoft skills – Office, Excel, Power Point etc.

Competencies / Skills:

Has advanced knowledge and ability to advise on:

  • Cost and Document Management Principles: Ensures best practice standards are applied during project set-up and configuration, identifying and communicating irregularities or non-compliance of standards during project execution.
  • Tools & Technology: Identifies and uses the appropriate technology and systems for project controls (e.g. Procore, GC forecasting, etc.)
  • Systems Training: Provides system training for project controls tools and platforms.

Has demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge to advise on project setups, data trends and predictive analysis
  • Continuous Improvement: Participates on product management teams to engage users on application development and enhancement projects.
  • Cost Reporting: Reviews and validates project cost reporting (ACRs, PSRs, and associated reports) for quality and accuracy. Elevates significant non-compliance issues for executive action.
  • Project Controls Standards: Ensures adhearance project controls standards and procedures in accordance with internal governance and external requirements.
  • Project Controls Strategies and Innovation: Partners with project teams to implement standard strategies or seek innovative solutions for project controls execution to meet client’s needs.
  • Data Analytics: Provides project teams and operational leadership with project performance data in a timely manner that enables teams to make decisions why may result in increased opportunities and avoid negative outcomes.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Identifies, evaluates, and advises of potential risks and opportunities related to operations, contracts, or project execution during PSR/project review meetings to enable proper forecasting.
  • Systems Administration: Sets up user permissions, configures system and reports and troubleshoots issues for project controls systems including cost and document management platforms
The Physical Side of the Role: This is primarily a desk-based position with extensive computer work and prolonged sitting, up to 100% of the time. You can expect limited standing and walking—generally up to 25% on even surfaces. The role requires visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work, including near and far vision, color vision, and depth perception.

The typical noise level is quiet. The work environment is predominantly indoors in climate-controlled spaces, with occasional time (up to 25%) in areas that are indoors but not fully controlled or outdoors under cover. The position includes significant desk time for tasks such as computer work, document review, and meetings.

Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions.

Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripherial vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting,

bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
