- Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient oncology RN experience (ambulatory clinic, oncology practice nurse, phone triage)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Connecticut RN license required; pending accepted if active by start date
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required (chemotherapy certification for oncology RN)
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Previous travel RN experience required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- One professional reference required
- Not accepting local candidates — must reside more than 75 miles from facility
- Experience with Epic EHR or similar electronic health record systems preferred
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients in an outpatient setting before, during, and after treatments, including follow-up, pre-op, and post-op appointments
- Perform telephone triage, manage patient calls and in-basket communications, and coordinate care across teams
- Assist providers during clinic visits and support new and return patient visits across oncology specialties
- Float between specialties as needed within the ambulatory oncology clinic
- Educate and support patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, side-effect monitoring, and self-care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Maintain accurate, timely charting using Epic electronic health record (EHR)
- Adhere to infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Work in a high-quality outpatient oncology clinic focused on patient-centered care
