Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position in Boston, MA, requiring cardiology experience, telemetry strip proficiency, and an active MA RN license.
Details- Hospital-based float pool position rotating across up to 5 Med/Surg Telemetry units
- Units include: M7 (ortho, urology, neurology, GYN
- 30 beds), 6W (cardiology/telemetry
- 32 beds), 7E (surgery
- 30 beds), and CMS6 (cardio-thoracic
- 16 beds)
- Average patient ratio of 5:1
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- Most Fridays will be required
- Meditech and Epic EMR used; Epic experience strongly preferred
- Position requires comfort managing titratable IV drips including nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions
- Active MA RN license required
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
- Cardiology experience required
- Strong IMCU or step-down experience required
- Ability to independently read telemetry strips required
- Ability to quickly adapt to different units required
- 3–5 years of float pool experience preferred
- Must reside 30 or more miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be manager-level or above (title must reflect 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor') and include a performance evaluation; one reference must be within the past 12 months and the other within 3 years
- References from other travelers are not accepted
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Candidates must pass a Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (Test A or B) as part of the evaluation process; the test may only be taken twice
- Candidates must pass an on-site telemetry strip exam with a score of 84% or better (2 attempts allowed)
- No extended RTO and no specific schedule requests will be accommodated
- One reference from a prior travel or temporary assignment is preferred
