Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Travel RN) – Holyoke, MA | 13-week behavioral health contract starting May 4, 2026. Provide inpatient psychiatric care across adult, geriatric, and pediatric units. - Setting: Behavioral Health Hospital – 104 beds across five units (adult, geriatric, pediatric)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel RN
- Contract Dates: May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026 (13 weeks)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 (weekly guarantee)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts (MA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting (Psychiatric RN, mental health nursing)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- BLS certification (required)
- Willingness to float between adult, geriatric, and pediatric behavioral health units as needed
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and teamwork skills
- Preferred: Experience with Cerner EHR and treating behavioral health patient populations (substance use disorder, mood disorders, psychotic disorders)
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation (Psychiatric RN responsibilities)
- Develop individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor and communicate changes in patients’ mental and medical status to physicians, supervisors, and care team members
- Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning and transitions of care
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care for diagnoses including schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorder
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EHR
- Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including dress code (blue scrubs)
