Jeff Abrams with Robert Half is working with a company looking for a Sr. Property Accountant. If you are looking to grow as a property accountant this role could be for you. Responsibilities include:
• Conduct cash analysis at project level.
• Review expenditures in NEXUS (AP system) and MRI (GL system).
• Available to address both internal and external inquiries.
• Perform vendor callbacks to confirm updates to banking information.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in recording accounting transactions.
• Record month-end journal entries and aid in the closing process.
• Responsible for reconciling balance sheet accounts (including cash, AP, AR, etc.).
• Maintain the general ledger and update supporting schedules and workbooks.
• Ensure timely processing of debt service payments.
• Assist Asset Managers in preparing and submitting draw requests to lenders.
• Participate in and support the quarter-end close process.
• Aid in preparing quarterly financial statements and investor reports.
• Assist with generating ad hoc reports for Asset Management and lenders.
• Assist in preparing financial/workpaper support for auditors.
• Assist in gathering information for financial statement preparation and footnote disclosures for annual audits.
• Prepare financial packages for tax accountants and review partnership tax returns.
• Available to address inquiries related to tax and audits
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and with a minimum of 3-5 years accounting work experience. Real estate, private equity, construction, and development strongly preferred.
• CPA or CPA Candidate preferred.
• System knowledge: MRI, Nexus, Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables). MRI experience is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of partnership/fund accounting concepts.
