Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) Designer to join our Water group in Buffalo, NY. We are looking for designers just starting in their career as well as seasoned CADD technicians. Our Water Discipline is growing and we have exciting projects to engage technically-minded designers who want to work on projects varying from steel and concrete to site and earthwork with regular involvement with roadway, structure, utility, and environmental aspects, too.

Our projects are unique designs and provide a diverse array of interesting work to keep our staff challenged and engaged. Our upcoming project portfolio includes jobs on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country.

Whether designing a new water control structure, upgrading a hydropower dam, expanding a lock facility or performing work on a levee closure structure, joining the Colliers Engineering & Design Team will accelerate YOUR success!

Responsibilities:

 •  Produce CAD drawings for new or rehabilitated structures, including plans, profiles, sections, and details using both MicroStation and AutoCAD.
 •  Developing structural layouts and details for various project types (locks, dams, levees, stream restoration, waterfronts, permit plans, etc.).
 •  Development of 3D drawings and surface modeling for projects.
 •  Quantity take-offs and construction estimates from CAD and surface model files.
 •  Apply and integrate various client CAD standards into CAD templates.
 •  Assist in the education, development, and mentoring of staff and act as a resource for CAD design questions.
 •  Perform QA/QC on work products from other CADD design and engineering staff.

Qualifications:

 •  Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
 •  Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD (or knowledge of one of these programs with the interest to learn the other).
 •  Willing to work independently and with others as a team member.
 •  Interested in developing, coaching, and mentoring others.
 •  Previous CADD structural design experience is a plus.
 •  Civil 3D experience is a plus.
 •  Previous structural, mechanical, or earthwork project design experience is a plus.

Compensation: $18.69-23.11/HR DOQ.
