What you'll bring to the team:
Position Summary: The Internal Communications Specialist will seek to increase employee awareness, understanding, and engagement, while inspiring multi-directional communication across a variety of channels.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Resort leaders and the People Team (PT) to develop and manage internal communication plans to foster a cohesive company culture, ensure that employees are well-informed on company news, and promote transparent communication at all levels.
• Communication plans will include DE&I, Merlin Culture Survey, Merlin's Magic Wand, PT, marketing and entertainment initiatives that involve employees for engagement and success.
• Consult with Guest Experience Manager to align with key activity that supports the improvement of KPI’s.
• Support, track, and coordinate Resort wide listening strategy activities and employee engagement initiatives (Resort, NA and Group led).
• Help build the Resort’s employer brand projects including:
• Continually refreshing the Resort’s LinkedIn, Facebook, and Careers sites to ensure a quality, growing, and engaged following;
• Partnering with Talent Acquisition (TA) and Marketing to create creative content that can be shared via our various sites;
• Consulting with the TA team regarding vacancies and good news stories/spotlights to share that will attract diverse talent on both internal and external outlets;
• Creating and sharing career stories for the Resort and in partnership with the Group Employer Brand and Social Media Manager where appropriate.
• Manage the Resorts recognition platform (currently Work Tango) and identify creative and effective opportunities to engage and recognize employees.
• Work with Resort leadership and other stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce and consolidate resort email traffic to ensure consistent messaging and communication via internal and external channels.
• Write, research, and edit communications to engage and inform employees through a variety of internal communications channels, including the 411, emails, intranet, videos, and social media.
• With input/collaboration from the People Team, create and edit content that supports recruitment, training and development programs, employee benefits, and employee engagement programs.
• Continued knowledge and awareness of creative trends, developments, and best practices in employee communication, engagement, and recognition.
• Design and implement feedback loops to gauge employee sentiment and insights.
• Be a collaborator with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Complete tasks in a proactive manner, actively seeking ways to produce high-quality, efficient work.
Qualifications & Experience:
Background and Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, preferably in an internal communication role.
• Proven track record of designing and executing successful communication strategies.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in the moment.
• Knowledge of what drives engagement; experience in developing engagement strategies preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient in mass communication and the use of social media platforms; understanding of social media analytics tools.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment and meet tight deadlines.
Job Requirements:
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends to support Company and operational events and needs.
• Exceptional written and verbal skills (business and conversational).
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Write clearly and informatively, edit documents for spelling and grammar, adapt writing style to meet needs (i.e. formal or informal).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva).
• Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
Pay Range: USD $22.00/Hr.
