Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
This role will be will work closely with mechanical and controls engineering teams to develop creative solutions to take this program for R&D, though design validation and into production.
Key job responsibilities
• Fabricate, assemble, modify or repair custom tooling & test equipment
• Work directly with engineering teams and technicians on design feedback DFM, project execution and commissioning
• Maintain GSE Tooling work area, stock of welding/fabrication consumables
• Ability to be flexible, support changing priorities and ambitious deadlines
• Support other development, production and facilities teams as required
• Must have valid driver’s license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria.
• Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Kirkland, WA, USA- Minimum 5 years professional experience in a custom welding and fabrication environment.
• Able to manufacture precision parts using manual machine equipment (mill/lathe)
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 2+ years' experience with reading, interpreting, and executing mechanical drawings
• 1+ year experience with CAD
• Understanding of GD&T - Experience with rigging and lifting operations.
• Degree or certificate in a related field
• Understanding of CNC conversational programming
