Founded 1949, my client is a privately held, family-owned personal care company based in White Plains, New York. These products are sold in 64 countries on six continents, primarily promoting the brand names instead of the company name!
Job Description
• Formulate rinse-off and leave-on products such as Feminine washes, lotions, gels, creams, and wipes to support the Vagisil brand business continuity.
• Formulate hair color and hair care products in support of business continuity of Men's care and Men's grooming business.
• Reformulate existing products through cost-benefit analysis by developing optimum prototypes without compromising efficacy and consumer perception.
• Understand raw material functions and chemistry of surfactants, polymers, emulsions, and gels.
• Evaluate formula/package compatibility and stability of products to choose the best prototype for launch/re-launch.
• Perform product efficacy testing at the bench, stability and physicochemical characterization complying with protocols.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other R&D partners, Technology Transfer, Quality Control, Packaging and Manufacturing.

The Successful Applicant
• 5+ years of formulation experience in skin care, personal care, and hair care.
• Deep understanding of various category raw materials like surfactants, emulsifiers, polymers and preservatives.
• Experience in conducting stability studies, product evaluations and understanding processing and scale-up.
• Understanding of OTC regulations and global regulatory compliance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and verbal) and the ability to work in a team environment.
• BS/M.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering
• Formulation experience in personal care products and knowledge of functionality and processing of various chemicals.
