About Our Client

The Chief Financial Officer - Manufacturing will work for a leading Las Vegas based manufacturing company. This role is a newly created position as the manufacturing company is being carved out of of the portfolio of businesses. The company are a well-established business with well recognized product lines.
The role is on-site in Las Vegas, NV 5 days a week. There is a relocation budget for candidates who would consider moving to the area.

Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer - Manufacturing will be responsible for:

 •  Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the company's strategic and financial goals are achieved
 •  Oversee financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
 •  Manage the company's ERP systems, including system selection, implementation, and ongoing maintenance
 •  Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and methodologies to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation
 •  Oversee inventory management, including inventory control, forecasting, and reconciliation
 •  Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance
 •  Own all transactions related to accuracy of the general ledger, job costing, inventory, receivables, payables, and resulting financial reports
 •  Develop and maintain financial and management reports that accurately describe performance with comparisons to projections or other benchmarks
 •  Actively identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in processes, services, and alternatives
 •  Maintain current knowledge of logistics costs, raw material and commodities pricing and review cost variances
 •  Contribute to company wide staffing requirements planning
 •  Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring high performance and professional development
 •  Manage offsite inventories and costing of third-party processes and record internally
 •  Oversee annual standard cost update and intermittent changes in material, equipment and labor rates are allocated, recommend related price changes
 •  Evaluate capital expenditures and ROI
 •  Manage and track contracts, renewals and costs
 •  Manage State Sales and use Tax compliance
 •  Manage corporate insurance and risk management policies and procedures
 •  Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as needed (along with daily KPI updates)
 •  Collaborate with Human Resources for benefit renewals and company 401K plan

The Successful Applicant

The Chief Financial Officer - Manufacturing should have the following skill sets and qualifications:

 •  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Related Field;
 •  MBA/Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
 •  CPA preferred
 •  15+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a CFO or equivalent role
 •  Strong knowledge of ERP systems, cost accounting, variance analysis, inventory management, and data analytics
 •  Proven track record of financial leadership and strategic thinking
 •  Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
 •  Comfortable working in a fast paced, growing and complex organization
 •  Industry tenure in manufacturing or distribution preferred
