Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Shantel Poole with Roberth Half has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Sacramento, California. The role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing day-to-day accounting activities.
The successful candidate will also supervise staff and provide financial reports to senior management.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the overall accounting function, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate and assist with annual audits and tax filings.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support business operations and decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
• Stay updated on accounting regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and provide guidance to the team.
• Implement accounting software and tools to optimize productivity and accuracy.

• Must hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Ability to manage and oversee the full cycle accounting process
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail
• Exceptional ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
• Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
• Ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Must have strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
