As a Senior Cytogenetic Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting our client, Atrium Health, by executing responsibilities related to team performance, training, and quality assurance. This role demands a proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Functions
• Actively seek opportunities to enhance team performance, quality, and customer service through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure the quality of testing within the assigned area by investigating issues and implementing preventative measures.
• Develop and maintain standard work procedures, providing training and coaching to teammates as necessary.
• Conduct audits to ensure adherence to established procedures, providing coaching and support as needed.
• Maintain the flow of specimens within the designated area, including proper storage and organization.
• Uphold safety and quality standards through adherence to 5S principles and proper PPE usage.
• Monitor team productivity and address issues promptly, providing support and troubleshooting as required.
• Act as a resource for team members, covering gaps in staffing and informing leadership of any abnormal situations.
• Foster team spirit through participation in team-building activities and receptiveness to feedback and trends.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in a busy environment with potential exposure to infectious materials and chemical hazards.
• Must be capable of walking, navigating equipment, and lifting loads up to 50 lbs.
Required:
• Demonstrated proficiency in cytogenetics laboratory procedures.
• ASCP Certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology).
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - AHA.
Education:
• ASCP registered Cytogenetics or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule:
• Soonest Start Date: 04/01/2024
• Hours Per Week: 40.00
• Shift: 12:30pm-9pm, Mon-Fri
Salary Range:
$32-48/hr (based on experience)
Incentives:
Sign-on Bonus eligible ($5000 for full-time, $2500 for part-time).
