Job Title: Assistant Housekeeper (Full Time: 30 - 40 hours per week/Non-Exempt)

Location: Franciscan Retreat Center (Colorado Springs, CO)
Date Open: Open Now
Desired Start Date: As soon as practical.
Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour.

Benefits: Full Time employees eligible for health, vision and dental coverage, receive holiday pay and earn discretionary time off; may participate in employee pension plan.

Job Description/Summary of Job Duties:

Must maintain an understanding and appreciation of the philosophy and Mission Statement of the Franciscan Retreat Center (FRC) at all times. Incumbent is a working housekeeper, cleaning common areas, guest sleeping rooms, conference rooms, and offices of the FRC buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Common Areas - Daily
Vacuum carpets in lobbies, lounges and corridors.
Clean restrooms and replenish bathroom supplies.
Dust furniture, light fixtures, wall hangings, banisters, railings, and ledges.
Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal area.
Check and report to the Director the need for repairs and replacements.
Ensure lights off, windows closed/locked and doors locked.

Weekly
Dust blinds

Every 6 months
High dust, hallway baseboard, banisters, and deep clean room
Clean light fixtures
Clean blinds
Dust and wash between windows and screens

Rooms - After Checkout
Make beds with clean linens.
Change out sheets, bedspreads, and towels and remove trash
Dust furniture, light fixtures, wall hangings and blinds
Vacuum floors
Clean bathroom, including drains, and restock consumable supplies
Clean windows and sills.
Check and report to the Director the need for repairs and replacements

Quarterly
Scrub shower base
Wash shower curtains

Every 6 months
Clean blinds
Launder bedspreads, blankets, bed pads, etc
Clean all light fixtures, move furniture and dust baseboards.
Dust and wash between windows and screens.
Beverage Service
Responsible for set up and clean up for meals and beverage service in the meeting rooms

Office Areas - Weekly
Clean and reset meeting rooms after use
Vacuums floors
Removes trash

Monthly
Dusts desk, computer, light fixtures, and ledges

Every 6 months
Wash all light fixtures, move furniture and dust baseboards.
Dusts and washes between windows and screens.
Cleans Stonehaven and Woodhaven after groups leave.
Stocks laundry carts with supplies for the following week.
Performs any other duties required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with groups of guests or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Possesses a knowledge of Microsoft Outlook without additional FRC ministry training. Capable of learning new software CampBrain for running reports.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details of written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
