District Sales Manager - AG

Overview:

This person is responsible for setting the direction and achieving desired sales results in the territory. The role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented sales manager that strives to differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing unrivalled customer service, high visibility, and a comprehensive call coverage cycle.
The successful candidate will quickly achieve exceptional sales and market share growth with traditional agriculture irrigation dealers, large growers, and corporate accounts through successful execution of novel business development plans and strategies.

Responsibilities:

 •  Achieve exceptional sales results and market share growth for the assigned territory.
 •  Investigate and dissect the market as it relates to market share, penetration and growth opportunities and develop an annual strategic plan to meet sales targets and corporate objectives.
 •  Successfully executes business development plans and develop accompanying financial analyses to ensure profitable sales growth and sound business decision-making.
 •  Develop and maintain a project database and secure Rain Bird installations at strategic, high value sites.
 •  Educate and influence dealers and growers on the value of Rain Bird’s agricultural products, their applications, and key benefits to drive product preference.
 •  Work closely with Marketing and assist the agriculture division in determining market needs, competitive information, and overall market trends.
 •  Differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing superior customer service, high visibility to key accounts, and aggressive call coverage cycles.
 •  Implement novel approaches to accelerate Rain Bird’s influence with growers and corporate farming customers.
 •  Capability to become an accomplished leader that consistently achieves results and develops creative, customer-focused solutions to accelerate growth.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 •  B.A. or B.S. Degree.
 •  5+ years of sales experience and a proven track record of selling high-value products.
 •  Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and general business skills.
 •  Strong negotiating skills and ability to sell to large accounts with multiple stakeholders.
 •  Motivated, results oriented, self starter eager to take ownership of job requirements.
 •  Ability to communicate effectively and credibly at all levels in the organization.
 •  Aptitude for quantitative analysis, strategic thinking, and detailed planning
 •  Must live within the territory. Position requires overnight travel in the territory up to 50% of time.
 •  At least one of the desired qualifications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 •  Previous experience in the Agricultural irrigation industry with a knowledge of Rain Bird products and applications, specification practices, the Rain Bird organization, and competitive products.
 •  Experience in agronomy, wholesale distribution, business to business sales, irrigation design and installation.
 •  MBA or graduate degree.
 •  Bilingual in Spanish.

Salary range for candidates based in California: $140,000 - $210,000

Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
