Our client designs and manufactures specialty industrial equipment and accessories to construction and heavy manufacturing industries with North American Headquarters in Northern Columbus suburbs Ohio

Due to business growth they are looking to add an additional Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems by developing conceptual layouts, product specifications, mechanical drawings and working with manufacturing personnel to develop appropriate fabrication methods.
Work to develop, set up and conduct laboratory tests to determine performance of components and systems versus specifications and assist the production team on manufacturing tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
 •  Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
 •  Conduct research in support of design proposals, specifications, and manuals to help evaluate the feasibility, cost, and/or maintenance requirements of designs.
 •  Select and specify components or direct modification of existing products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
 •  Investigate product/equipment for out of specification conditions, assembly/use difficulties and/or failures to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations for improvements.
 •  Document the structural design of products, using CAD design/drafting tools.
 •  Test and analyze the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
 •  Develop and test alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modifications.
 •  Evaluate manufacturing processes by reviewing design of equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
 •  Assist in investigations of non-conformances and recommends corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements
 •  Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) or a related program (i.e. Engineering physics)
 •  2+ years’ experience in metal fabrication, industrial equipment, manufacturing equipment, cranes, or job shop industries ideal
 •  Experience with CAD 3D programs.
 •  Experience with Creo or Inventor Solid Works and/or Solid Works EPDM strongly preferred.
 •  Experience with the mechanical design of complex parts.
 •  Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
 •  Excellent Communication skills
