Mechanical Engineer:

Position Summary:

The primary job function of this contract is to execute the environmental qualification test program (such as shock and vibration tests) ,in adherence to Aerospace standards, for an already designed battery charger control unit. Moreover, it involves providing mechanical support for the enhancement of existing product designs, drawings, and PCB outlines related to Aerospace battery products.

 •  Very little to no design requirement for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation of an environmental testing strategy to support an Aerospace certification initiative.

Own and drive the environmental qualification testing for our aerospace program.

Transport unit-under-test and all supporting test equipment to outside certification labs for the various test execution.

Responsibilities above include:

o Setup our unit-under-test

o Ensure unit is performing properly prior to and during all testing

o Working with the lab technicians to execute the environmental tests to our detailed qualification test plans/procedures

o Compiling all test data into a coherent report

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, testing, and documentation of Electronic Assemblies.

Working Knowledge in Solidworks CAD & PDM is essential.

Familiarity with electronic component design, documentation, and assembly instructions is necessary.

Experience in creating detailed mechanical drawings for various parts including assemblies, machined parts, and sheet metal parts.

Capability to compile and document test results into a comprehensive qualification test report.

Candidates with Military/Aerospace experience.

Work Environment: While performing job duties, the employee may be exposed to prevailing weather conditions and will work in both indoor air-conditioned/heated office settings.
